PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
Examination shall comprise of two Papers of 200 marks each:
Paper I – General Studies
Paper II – CSAT
- In the First paper – General Studies: Questions will be asked from Current Affairs, Geography, Polity, History, Economy, Science Environment/Ecology and Himachal GK
- In the Second Paper – CSAT : Questions will be asked from Aptitude, Reasoning, Comprehension, Decision-Making (Qualifying with 33% marks)
STRATEGY
we put lots of hard work to qualify prelims but only doing hard work is not sufficient.
You will get lots of material related to Himachal GK in market but only few of them will tell you that HOW TO READ that particular material.
-You can take the example of The wonderland Himachal by Jag Mohan Balokhra – it is detailed well a bulky book. But you should know how to read that from examination point of view.

–Do not stress yourself on previous day of exam
-Practice mock tests regularly
-Don’t read a book from Cover to Cover.
-Don’t make notes in the first reading itself.
-Keep your booklist short and simple.
– Better to read one book for each topic thoroughly, than flip through multiple sources.
–Read carefully and between the lines since Prelims questions can be tricky.
-Preliminary Exam is all about ‘identifying’ the correct answer among the 4 options given. So don’t worry about remembering facts for the exam. It’s all about elimination of the wrong options and identifying the correct answer.
