CM INAUGURATES MARTYRS’ MEMORIAL ON KARGIL DIWAS-
–Dedicated to bravehearts of 1962, 1965, 1971 & Kargil wars
-he inaugurated a martyrs’ memorial built at a cost of Rs 15 lakh at the Indira Market in Mandi. The memorial has been dedicated to the martyrs of 1962, 1965 and 1971, besides those of the Kargil War of 1999. The names of all martyrs have been inscribed on the monument.
–Major Somnath Sharma, who received the first highest gallantry award — Param Vir Chakra — was from Himachal Pradesh.
–In the Kargil War, Captain Vikram Battara was awarded Param Vir Chakra posthumously and Rifleman Sanjay Kumar, too, was conferred with the Param Vir Chakra for distinguished acts of valour during the war,”
PANCHAYATS APPRISED OF TELE-LAW SCHEME
–The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) today conducted an online legal awareness-cum-training programme for representatives of panchayati raj institutions (PRIs) of Chamba block.
-The objective of the programme was to impart training and make them aware about the tele-law scheme and some other legal aspects and welfare schemes so that they could assist villagers in the redress of their legal problems with the help of legal services institutions.

-With the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau tightening the noose around corrupt officials, the number of corruption cases has doubled during the past five years
