FROM AUGUST, ‘REGISTER 26’ TO CHECK CRIME AGAINST WOMEN & CHILDREN
-Beginning August 1, maintaining a register on offenders of crime against women and children will be mandatory for all police stations in Himachal Pradesh. Orders have been issued to probe cases pertaining to gender crime on a priority basis and in a swift, professional manner.
-“Register 26” will be maintained for different categories of crime — rape, unnatural sex, molestation, outraging the modesty of a woman, obscene and indecent representation, sexual harassment/remarks, stalking, domestic violence, kidnapping, abduction and immoral trafficking. SURVEY TO SELECT ‘ONE DISTRICT, ONE PRODUCT’ UNDER WAY
-The Industries Department is conducting a baseline survey in all districts to select one district, one product for the Centrally-sponsored Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP).
-The data of food processing units, self-help groups and cooperative societies based on widely-grown crops in every district are being mapped to ascertain the feasibility of setting up processing units. The availability of produce, its marketing facilities, etc, are also being examined
PATHANKOT-MANDI ROAD WIDTH REDUCED TO MINIMISE GREEN COVER LOSS
-The first phase of the sanctioned Pathankot-Mandi four-lane project from Kandwal to Sehuni in Nurpur will be executed as per the original plan approved by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
